Be aware of tarnish which may occur as a result of oxidation, caused by interacting of metal, silver or gold plated costume jewelry with certain elements such as oxygen or sulphur as well as with certain acids.

To prevent tarnishing of silver, wash jewelry with mild soap and water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Store in a dry container or a plastic bag with anti-tarnish paper.

Do not allow your silver jewelry to come in contact with items containing sulphur like matches, hairbands, etc.

Avoid jewelry contact with abrasive soaps, perfumes, sprays, dyes, etc.

Remove your jewelry while washing, bathing, household chores and cleaning with chemicals.
